The Camp Intersection took place from 9 to 11 October in Zermatt in a rather special atmosphere due to the health situation. For many participants, it was an opportunity to put their skis back on after a shortened 19/20 season, but above all it was an opportunity to get a breath of fresh air in the mountains and to get away from the routine of teleworking or online university courses.
To make no secret of the fact that we didn't know how the health situation would develop, we hesitated for a long time to hold the event this year. We finally decided to revise the concept a bit and to propose a Camp Intersection "COVID Safe" with strong restrictions on the social activities of the participants, but still offering three days of training on the glacier. Farewell to après-skis, Furri cafés to be shared by five, aperitifs at Papperla and hip swinging at Pöstli... the 2020 edition was more "sober", training in the morning, lunch in groups and evening meal with a predefined table plan... the usual.... !
As for skiing, the heavy snowfalls of the previous weeks allowed the participants to go and work on their technique in free skiing on the piste oft he Furggsattel skilift (which is rarely open at this time) and to do a series of passages through the giant or slalom poles according to their preferences, but above all to benefit from the sound advice of the coaches who were at their disposal during the three days.
This edition will remain in the memory of the participants and the organisers for a long time, and we hope that it will not be the only event of our ski club this season...
